DeepVox vs Glean
A self-hosted Glean alternative you run and own.
Glean is a strong, fast-to-start enterprise search product. Choose DeepVox when the system must run on your infrastructure, under your control, without costs that grow with every user.

In short
Glean runs in Glean’s cloud or as a Glean-operated deployment in your AWS or GCP account, priced per user. DeepVox builds a comparable knowledge assistant on open-source components inside your own infrastructure, which you operate and own, with voice agents and automation on the same core and pricing that does not grow with headcount.

Which fits
Choose honestly.
Choose Glean when
- Your data can live in a vendor-operated cloud.
- You need hundreds of connectors on day one.
- You want a packaged product with no build phase.
- Per-seat pricing fits your headcount.
Choose DeepVox when
- Data, models and logs must stay on infrastructure you control.
- You need to own the code and be able to exit without losing the system.
- Voice agents or end-to-end automation are on the roadmap.
- You have hundreds of users and want cost that doesn’t scale per seat.
Cost at scale
Per seat adds up.
Third-party benchmarks put Glean at roughly $25–48 per user per month. That is licence cost alone, every year. DeepVox charges for the build and support scope; you pay your own infrastructure at cost.
- 150 users, per seat
- ≈ $45k–86k / year
- 500 users, per seat
- ≈ $150k–288k / year
- DeepVox
- Fixed scope + your infrastructure
- Basis
- Public benchmarks, not quotes
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Can Glean be self-hosted?
Glean offers a customer-hosted model in your GCP or AWS account, but Glean still operates it. A fully on-premise deployment is not documented.
Is a self-hosted alternative as good at search?
For grounded answers over your documents, well-built open-source retrieval with reranking is close. We measure it on your own questions during discovery.
Can we move from Glean to DeepVox?
Yes. We map your current sources and permissions in discovery and can run both side by side in the proof of concept.
